Presentation Timer with wireless remote lectern head
supporting
three indicators, green, amber and red and measuring 110mm X 55mm X 30mm with a
weight of just 100grams, the head, which can be powered from the included low
voltage power pack or from a USB port of laptop PC or MAC or from a PP3 type
battery (a Duracell PP3 will give approximately 12 hours on continuous use), is
fitted with solid state LEDs of the type used in video matrix displays.
because of it's wireless connectivity the chairperson's control station can sit
discretely on a top table, it's size is 150mm X 90mm X 45mm, weighs 300 grams
but supports a 38mm high minutes and seconds display. the desired time is set by
a simple combination of push buttons, one of which is also used to start and
pause the count. once started the display is green as is the indicator on the
lectern head. at zero minutes 59 seconds the display on the chairperson's
stations changes to amber and the indicator on the lectern head extinguishes
green and turns on amber. at zero seconds the chairperson's station stops
counting and the display turns red, the lectern head changes from the
amber indicator to the red indicator. at 10 seconds after the end of count the
lectern head flashes the red indicator and the chairperson's display flashes
amber with the previously selected start time, which can be changed if require,
ready to start again. at any point in the count the unit can be paused which
flashes the lectern red indicator. when restarted the count will continue where
it left off and the lectern head will revert to it's relevant state.
a unique feature of this product is the ability to output, via a connection at
the side of the chairperson's station, X10 codes. via a suitable interface found
elsewhere on this site the unit communicates with lamp modules to control three
channels of mains powered lamps up to 300 watts. these could be a red a green
and an amber PARCAN sited anywhere on the same mains supply. no wires, no radio
waves no infrared. through walls or even in a different building. these lamps
mimic the lectern head.
